Sujith Koonan

Sujith Koonan, Law Researcher, based in Delhi and he is currently pursuing PhD at School of Oriental and African Studies – University of London. He worked at Amity Law School, Noida where he taught Environmental Law and Public International Law. He also worked as a Law Researcher with Environmental Law Research Society (ELRS), New Delhi where he coordinated a three-year project (2009-12) on water law reforms in India. He is an Associate Editor of the Law, Environment and Development Journal (LEAD) – a joint publication of School of Oriental and African Studies, replica breitling watches University of London and International Environmental Law Research Centre, Geneva. He holds a M. Phil. (International Law) from Centre for International Legal Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and LL.M. (Environmental Law and Human Rights) from Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin. His work on water laws led him rolex oyster perpetual to be invited to join a Working Group on Water Governance constituted by the Planning Commission of India (Government of India) for the Twelfth Five-Year Plan (2012-2017).

Mr. Koonan’s main areas of interest include environmental law, natural resources and human rights. His recent research has been mainly on law and policy framework relating to water and sanitation and he has published his research papers in various reputed national and international publications. He has recently co-edited a volume on water law instruments in India - Water Law in India – An Introduction to Legal Instruments (New Delhi: Oxford University Press, 2011). Lovleen Bhullar

Lovleen Bhullar, Law Researcher, holds a bachelors degree in law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, a masters degree in Environmental Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London and received a LLM (Environmental Law), and a MSc in Environmental Policy & Regulation from the London School of Economics & Political Science. Before joining ELRS, she worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Water Policy, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore. She has earlier worked with the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law, also at NUS, as well as a leading Indian law firm in New Delhi. She has interned with the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development, Friends of the Earth United Kingdom & Wales, and Capacity Global in London.

Ruchi Shree

Dr. Ruchi Shree, Researcher, is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Janki Devi Memorial College (JDMC), University of Delhi (DU). She has done her PhD in 2015 on Politics of Water as Natural Resource: Study of Two Movements (Plachimada and Tarun Bharat Sangh) at Centre for Political Studies (CPS), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. She did her M.A. and M.Phil from CPS, JNU. She has been teaching Political Science since 2010. Since 2012, she has been one the coordinators of a short term course offered by DU titled as ‘Peace and Conflict Studies: A Gandhian Alternative’ at JDMC. She also worked as a co-investigator in an Innovation Project of DU titled as “Creative Solutions to Water-logging through Rainwater Harvesting in South Delhi” (Project Code – JDMC 201, Academic year 2013-14).

Ruchiୡin areas of interest include politics of water, natural resources and development discourse, social movements, human rights and comparative politics. She has published many research papers and book reviews in renowned national and international publications. Her research article ᴥr as a Natural Resource: Right versus Need Debate貰10) was published in Rajagiri Journal of Social Work. She has recently published two research papers in the field of Comparative Politics titled as אָnialism in Comparative Perspective: Meaning, Context and Forms貰14) and 夥ralism: Meaning, Context and Major Elements貰15) for Institute of Lifelong Learning (ILLL) of DU (available at vle.du.ac.in). She has reviewed books for journals like Contemporary South Asia, Strategic Analysis, Gandhi Marg and Social Change. She has also written several popular articles in Hindi in the area of her research and numerous contemporary issues.

Arunoday Majumder

Arunoday Majumder, Researcher, is a doctoral candidate at the Center for the Study of Social Systems in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The working title of his thesis is "Corruption and Politics in Contemporary India: A History of Ethics and Citizenship". He was Junior Research Fellow at the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics between 2013 and 2015. He is also a media commentator and documentary filmmaker.
